About the Program
The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is a two-year home based, early learning and parenting program for families with young children. It fosters a fun learning environment to support a smooth transition to school and inspires a real connection to and love of learning. It also provides parents and carers with the confidence and tools to support their child’s education and their relationship with their child to empower them to be their child’s first educator.
Outcomes
The program focuses on improving better educational outcomes by focusing on pre-numeracy and pre-literacy experiences, concentration and listening skills. Over two years (the years before and after starting full-time school), HIPPY children work through weekly or fortnightly packs of play-based, educational activities with their parents and family.

Support
Each family receives individualised support to meet their specific needs. Our team then supports families to reflect on the packs and materials through home visits and group gatherings.

Eligibility
To be eligible to join the program, families must have a child turning 3 before 30th June, live in the catchment area where HIPPY is being delivered and be eager to participate and enhance their child’s learning journey.
If you are interested in enrolling your child, please contact the local HIPPY Coordinator to be taken through the enrolment process, or arrange to attend an information and/or activity session.
We deliver HIPPY in Hedland and Geraldton.
