As we celebrate diversity and inclusivity this month of March, we’re excited to recommend the book “It’s Okay to Be Different.”

“It’s Okay to Be Different” uses simple language and colourful illustrations to convey messages of acceptance and appreciation for individual uniqueness.

It teaches children that it’s okay to be themselves and that diversity should be celebrated. The book covers various aspects of diversity, including differences in appearance, abilities, family structures and cultural backgrounds.

While reading this book, educators and parents can initiate conversations with children about the importance of respecting and celebrating differences, not just during specific holidays, but every day. It serves as a valuable resource for promoting inclusivity and empathy among young children, aligning with the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework and Framework for School Aged Care.
