About the series
At Child Australia, we understand the profound impact that educators and professionals working with children and families have on our communities. As a not for profit organisation dedicated to advancing the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector, our Sector Development team is committed to supporting the wellbeing of those who care for and educate children every day. That’s why we’ve created the Wellness in Action video vault – a free, accessible collection of short videos designed to promote mental health, emotional balance and everyday wellbeing.
The Wellness in Action series was developed in response to the increasing pressures faced by professionals in the ECEC sector. Burnout, fatigue, and stress can significantly affect both individual performance and the quality of care provided to children.
These videos offer practical, evidence-informed strategies that can be easily integrated into daily routines – whether at work, at home or in between.
The series includes videos on a range of topics, beginning with “10 Tips to Boost Your Mood.” These quick and accessible suggestions encourage small, meaningful changes that can make a big difference. Topics include the importance of quality sleep, reducing caffeine intake, staying active and eating well. The series also encourages positive social habits like staying connected with others, doing something kind for someone else, and making time for fun and joy. Viewers are invited to reflect on common but often overlooked behaviours, such as unhelpful habits and unmanaged stress and are given supportive tools to help bring more balance into their lives.
Each video is grounded in a strengths-based approach to self-care, with an emphasis on realistic and achievable actions. The content is especially relevant for those working in early childhood settings, where the emotional and physical demands of the job can be intense. As part of the series, we also offer simple grounding activities to support emotional regulation and help reset during challenging moments. These short mindfulness exercises can be used at any time of day to promote calm and focus.
Our goal is to encourage educators, directors and support staff to prioritise their own health and wellbeing. When educators feel supported, healthy and emotionally safe, they are better equipped to provide responsive, high-quality care for the children and families they work with. This ripple effect benefits not only individuals but whole teams, services and communities.
The Wellness in Action video vault is completely free and available to anyone in the early childhood and care sector. Whether you’re looking for a moment of calm, a fresh perspective, or practical strategies for daily wellness, we invite you to explore the series and take what you need.
