About the Centre
Child Australia Landsdale Early Learning is open!
Landsdale ELC is a purpose built facility, that provides high quality care to families and their children in Landsdale and its surrounding communities. Our diverse team of staff provide an extensive amount of knowledge, culture, language and experience within the centre to our children in care.
We have 6 spacious Play Studios where environments will be purposefully set up by our educators to cater for the individual needs of children aged 0-5. Child Australia strives to provide a curriculum that is meaningful to your child.
Our large outdoor environments have been set up to provide freedom for the children to actively explore and engage in a range of different experiences that will challenge them physically and develop their understanding of sustainable practices that we embed into our service.
We strive to provide an environment where children have a strong sense of belonging within the centre and grow to be confident and competent learners.
Child Australia Landsdale Early Learning’s philosophy meets these requirement and makes a corresponding series of commitments to parents and families:
- Underpinned by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, our philosophy is to include all children in our Early Learning Centre and make a positive contribution to their future success by delivering high quality education and care.
- We acknowledge that contemporary research has made explicit the connection between the quality of relationships in children’s early years and their future positive cognitive and social development.
- We recognise the importance of quality early childhood education and care practices and settings and acknowledge this is a priority in providing children with stimulating play experiences and learning environments which will positively enable all children to develop to their full potential.
- We plan stimulating indoor and outdoor environments based on play, children’s strengths and interests that support all aspects of children’s learning and provokeexploration, intrigue and discovery as this promotes opportunities for sustained and collaborative learning.
- We work in partnerships with children, families and the community to develop and plan a curriculum that supports a child’s sense of belonging, being and becoming.
- Families are supported to provide their individual contributions and personal experiences as we recognise that good practice in early and middle childhood education and care incorporates these contributions and experiences to develop inclusive care practices and play environments and build our cultural competence.
- We are responsive to children’s needs and initiate positive engagement with their families to develop trust and respect to strengthen collaborative relationships.
- We recognise the importance in working in partnership with families and that this enhances better outcomes for their children.
Our curriculum encompasses the entire learning and development that happens with your children.
It documents the children’s learning, wellbeing and development. It gives us purpose for all that we do – from the program documents and individual child portfolios you see displayed in each learning room, our environments inside and out, our menus, our routines, our equipment, our own professional development, goals and outcomes for the service, summative assessments, interactions and relationships between children, educators, families and the community. All of this is Curriculum, and we take it very seriously. Our philosophy is included here and helps us explains our beliefs, our aims, and guides our curriculum decisions.
At Landsdale ELC, our curriculum is linked to the Early Years Learning Framework, (often referred to as the EYLF). This identifies 5 broad learning outcomes designed to capture learning styles and development of dispositions of children aged 0-5 years. These outcomes are:
- Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity
- Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world
- Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
- Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
- Outcome 5 : Children are effective communicators
