Child Australia is excited to reveal the successful recipients of the second round of the Supporting Children in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) WA Grants Program!

Once again, in partnership with the WA Government, we have coordinated this grants process to distribute funds under the Preschool Reform Agreement.

The Preschool Reform Agreement (PRA), a joint initiative by the Australian Government, states and territories, remains dedicated to ensuring all children have access to high-quality early education. A cornerstone of the PRA is the fair and equitable allocation of funding across various settings, with a strong focus on preschool programs within the ECEC sector.

This second round of the Grants Program continues to uphold its commitment to ensuring universal access to affordable and high-quality preschool education for all children, with a particular focus on overcoming barriers and reducing disparities in access to quality early learning.

Building on the objectives of the PRA, this round also targets improved preschool participation and outcomes among specific groups of children. These include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, those living in regional and remote communities, children experiencing significant disadvantages, children from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds, and children in the care of the Department of Communities. The program is dedicated to addressing the distinct challenges each group faces, striving for a more inclusive and equitable preschool experience.

Ms. Tina Holtom, CEO of Child Australia, reflected on the success of the second round: “We are proud to support the WA Government in distributing these important funds to the ECEC sector. We extend our congratulations to the successful organisations and commend their dedication to supporting high quality nurturing experiences for children as they transition from ECEC to school. With over 2,600 children benefitting from this funding, the impact will be far-reaching, providing vital resources and support to ensure they are equipped for a seamless transition to school. These initiatives will enhance early learning environments and foster positive developmental outcomes, laying the foundation for lifelong success and wellbeing”.
