Child Australia is thrilled to announce that Round 3 of the Supporting Children in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) WA Grants Program is now officially open, unlocking a fresh wave of funding for innovative ideas in early learning across Western Australia.
As part of the Preschool Reform Agreement (PRA), a national initiative led by the Federal Government in partnership with states and territories, this program helps to ensure all children, regardless of background or location, can access high-quality, affordable preschool education.
In WA, where preschool is referred to as kindergarten, the program is a key step in strengthening school readiness, particularly for children from regional and remote areas, as well as areas where families experience disadvantage.
Grants are open to all early childhood education and care services and to Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services with at least 10 kindergarten-aged children.

WA Minister for Early Childhood Education, Hon. Sabine Winton, said initiatives such as the Supporting Children in ECEC WA Grants Program helps ensure children are set up for success later in life.
“Quality early childhood education and care services are crucial in ensuring children have the best possible start to life. It’s fantastic to partner with Child Australia and the Commonwealth Government to deliver these grants to our early childhood education and care sector,” Minister Winton said.
“We’re excited to keep building on our partnership with the WA Government to drive real impact where it counts, helping children thrive as they take their first big step toward school. It’s fantastic to see the grant funding double this round, opening the door for even more children and families to benefit,” said Tina Holtom, CEO of Child Australia.
