About the Campus

The Child Australia Lockridge Campus is conveniently located in the heart of Lockridge, close to several schools, health services and public transport.

Incorporating an Early Learning Centre (ELC) and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service, the Campus is set in beautiful parklands and is utilised by families from the richly diverse local community, living the mantra of inclusion with families and staff sharing 14 languages and cultures. We work in partnership with the local school to deliver programs that will enable our children a smooth transition to primary school and continue their learning journey strong and confidently.

Our Early Learning Centre

At Lockridge, we aim to create beautiful spaces for children to learn and develop. Our newly designed outdoor play environment is an evolving space that supports children to belong, be and become, providing endless possibilities for physical, emotional and cognitive development.

Central to our philosophy is a commitment to sustainability and supporting children to understand where food comes from. We do this through chickens (lovingly referred to as “the girls”) and our kitchen garden. Children and families love to collect eggs and harvest fruit and vegetables from our kitchen gardens whilst at the same time developing an appreciation for the food that they eat.

Our Outside School Hours Care

At Lockridge OSHC, our program takes children on a journey place of discovery and learning. Discovering things about ourselves, our likes and dislikes.
Discovering our abilities and talents. Developing friendships and leadership skills. Exploring possibilities and nature. Learning about the world around us, our community and appreciating family.

We encourage children to think about OSHC as an extension to family and feel welcome and comfortable in their environment.

  • The Lockridge campus philosophy meets this requirement and makes a corresponding series of commitments to parents and families:

    • Underpinned by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, our philosophy is to include all children in our Early Learning Centre and make a positive contribution to their future success by delivering high quality education and care.
    • We acknowledge that contemporary research has made explicit the connection between the quality of relationships in children’s early years and their future positive cognitive and social development.
    • We recognise the importance of quality early childhood education and care practices and settings and acknowledge this is a priority in providing children with stimulating play experiences and learning environments which will positively enable all children to develop to their full potential.
    • We plan stimulating indoor and outdoor environments based on play, children’s strengths and interests that support all aspects of children’s learning and provokeexploration, intrigue and discovery as this promotes opportunities for sustained and collaborative learning.
    • We work in partnerships with children, families and the community to develop and plan a curriculum that supports a child’s sense of belonging, being and becoming.
    • Families are supported to provide their individual contributions and personal experiences as we recognise that good practice in early and middle childhood education and care incorporates these contributions and experiences to develop inclusive care practices and play environments and build our cultural competence.
    • We are responsive to children’s needs and initiate positive engagement with their families to develop trust and respect to strengthen collaborative relationships.
    • We recognise the importance in working in partnership with families and that this enhances better outcomes for their children.

  • "When you walk in the door at the Lockridge Campus it feels like walking into a home not a centre. The educators there are absolutely amazing! They go above and beyond for each child there and all of their individual needs. I honestly can’t recommend their centre enough, since we have returned I have seen such a big change in my 3 children."
  • "The Lockridge staff have assisted and helped me in so many ways. The staff are amazing and always willing to have a chat and get to know your circumstances. It is amazing that the staff are loyal to the area. They will go out of their way to assist families in need. I have always felt welcomed, and I know that Kodey is well loved by all staff."
